York United Football Club is a people and community first professional soccer club based in Toronto and competing in the Canadian Premier League. Home games are played at York University’s York Lions Stadium, in a community in which we strive to unite based on the authenticity, beauty, and pure joy of football.  

Are you a creative individual with a passion for football (soccer) and social media content creation? York United is seeking a dynamic Social Media Content Creator to join our team and infuse our brand’s digital presence with captivating visual content that resonates with football enthusiasts.

Reliable transportation is required as meetings and activations will be primarily located in and around York Region and the GTA. This position is part time and will require match day attendance, which primarily occur on weekends.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create engaging content for our social media platforms, with a focus on Instagram, including posts, stories, reels, and TikTok videos, tailored specifically for football fans.
  • Develop and produce high-quality photos and videos that showcase our brand and offerings, incorporating football-related themes and imagery.
  • Edit videos to enhance quality, storytelling, and engagement, ensuring that football fans are captivated by our content.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm ideas and strategies for football-themed content creation and promotion.
  • Leverage your passion and knowledge of football to create content that resonates with fans and enhances our brand’s connection with the football community.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in social media content creation, particularly within football soccer.
  • Previous experience in content creation, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work on Instagram, TikTok, or other social media platforms.
  • Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Canva).
  • A genuine passion for football (soccer) and a deep understanding of the sport, its culture, and its fanbase.
  • Strong creative and storytelling skills, with a keen eye for visual aesthetics that appeal to football fans.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain brand consistency across all football-themed content.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Flexibility to work from office and training fields to generate content

  • High level of professional independence with the ability to understand the strategic direction of the Club and effectively strategize to meet and exceed expectations.
  • Perform well under pressure in a fast paced environment with an ability to multitask.

OTHER CONSIDERATIONS:

  • Required to travel and work evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Required to have access to a vehicle at all times.
