Job Description

As an integral part of our Match Operations Team, you are helping deliver a premium fan experience through every interaction as Team Services Liaison, Community Relations Liaison, Beer Server, Ticket Scanner, Box Office attendant and as an ambassador of York United FC.

 Team Services Liaison, Community Relations Liaison

  • Ensure safe arrival of all match day participants and coordinate the entry of all participants into the stadium. 
  • Organize groups of 11 children or larger.
  • Coordinate rehearsal with the match day participants on the pitch. 
  • Execute tasks with match day participants at a standard that elevates both the participants and the fan experience.
  • Ensure all participants exit the venue post match in a safe manner and with guardians/chaperones. 
  • Ensure the dressing rooms are compliant with all Canadian Premier League requirements
  • Coordinate and Assist Team Representatives upon arrival at the stadium. 
  • Select contestants for on field/in-stand contests and promotions.
  • Ensure contestants clearly understand and are prepared to participate in the promotion and/or activity.
  • Set up, execute and tear down all pre-game, halftime and post-game promotions (signage, props, etc.).
  • Organize and prepare all promotions according to the game script and ensure execution.

Ticket Scanner, Box Office attendant 

  • Operate box office: sell tickets, aid guests on how to access tickets, take payments, scan tickets  
  • Prepare and stock the concession in advance of events and removes and stores product post event
  • Provide friendly and informed responses to inquiries.
  • Keep the work area and equipment clean and organized.
  • Handle payments, make change, and process all transactions accurately.

Beer Server

  • Monitor fans using Smart Serve principles.
  • Provide friendly and informed responses to inquiries.
  • Keep the work area and equipment clean and organized.
  • Handle payments and gratuities, make change, and process all transactions accurately.
  • Maintain knowledge of and actively promote menu, beverages and current promotions.
  • Receive product delivery and ensure safe, sanitary and secure storage when required.
  • Ensure all opening / closing procedures are completed (shift dependent).

Requirements

  • Must be available to work all York United FC matches and must be flexible to work weekday shifts as early as 3:30 PM, weekends and holidays, during the day and evenings.
  • Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors as well as in cold environments.
  • Previous Match Operations experience is an asset but not required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills and team focused.
  • Effective problem solving skills.
  • Work with enthusiasm and professionalism at all times.
  • Able to pay close attention to detail.
  • Critical decision making when dealing with issues, concerns or emergency situations.
  • Able to hold and use communication devices weighing no more than 32 ounces for the duration of shift.
  • Able to work in a noisy, dynamic and busy environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for the duration of shift (typically 4-6 hrs).
  • Must be able to walk and climb stairs in the venue.
  • Smart Serve Certification- required for those serving alcohol
  • Willingness to learn and apply basic technology on smartphones and social media that help elevate our team and fans’ experience.
